A Brief History
Lindsell News started life as a monthly news sheet produced by the Church Council of Lindsell Church. It was published by John Garrett, originally from the Old Crown House, with the help of Paul Pinkham and Ross Simpson. John Garrett was the editor until June 1993 when a system of having a different editor each month was started but and John carried on just doing the publishing and printing. There were 3 distributors and one person in charge of postal copies.
The first edition with a small amount of colour was published in March 2004, edited by Trevor Martin. John Garrett had stopped producing the magazine and this had been taken over by Alan Reed. In November 2006, Rachel Leeder, with invaluable help from Lesley Gosling who taught her how to use Publisher, took over and became Chair of the Lindsell News Production Team. Rachel did all the printing etc until January 2018 when it was taken over by the Tucker family in Cornwall who set up a company printing village magazines. Since 2017 the magazine has organised a photography competition and the production of a calendar
There are now 6 people distributing magazines round the village, one person in charge of postal copies and several are emailed.
